Business Development – Licensing and Partnering Opportunities
VAXON Biotech R&D expertise provides collaborative opportunities ranging from licensing options of proprietary optimized cryptic peptides for dedicated indication to join clinical development of therapeutic vaccine products.
VAXON Biotech is open to license out and/or establish co-development collaborations to bring therapeutic vaccines to the market in major cancer indications.
VAXON's products include:
Vx-001 – Optimized cryptic peptide
- Vx-001 has completed a phase I/II clinical trial in 33 NSCLC patients and 83 patients with various other solid tumors.
- Vx-001 is safe and stimulates a strong and frequent immune response. It clearly demonstrated a significant clinical activity
- Vx-001 has been granted orphan drug designation for NSCLC by EMA and FDA
- The development plan of the Vx-001 has been approved by the EMA
- Vx-001 will enter a pivotal phase III trial in NSCLC in Q4-2010.
VAXON Biotech can propose collaborative partnership for the Vx001 phase III clinical trial in NSCLC and/or for phase II in other indication.

Vx-006 – Optimized cryptic polypeptide
Vx-006 has shown an efficient polyspecific T-cell response in vivo in humanized mice and in vitro in HLA-A2 expressing healthy donors.
GMP production and regulatory toxicology is underway. VAXON Biotech is planing to conduct the first Vx-006 clinical trial (phase I/II study) in patients with prostate cancer.
Vxb-optimized cryptic peptides for different HLA molecules
While the first VAXON Biotech products were developed to be presented by HLA-A2 molecules, the next generation of drugs will also cover patients expressing HLA-B7, HLA-A3, HLA-A1, and HLA-A24.
Development of these products will be facilitated by the availability of humanized mice expressing HLA-B7, HLA-A3 or HLA-A24. These models were developed through a partnership with the Pasteur Institute in Paris. VAXON 's priority access to these models, which are owned by the Pasteur Institute, offers the company a major advance.
